authorize.net returns error on one-time payment, but the credit card is charged anyway

Our merchant account was working ok befor e, but a few days ago authorize.net servers started returning the following error, "The merchant login ID or password is invalid or the account is inactive" while processing the one-time payment (https://api.authorize.net/xml/v1/request.api).

Here's the raw response:

|3|2|13|The merchant login ID or password is invalid or the account is inactive.||P|0|||0.10||auth_capture||||||||||||||||||||||||||3F4805D0D43C89039060BE7BE460B66A|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

The merchant login id or transaction key has not changed, so I was wondering what could be going on.

The most disturbing point is that it seems to charge the credit card anyway.

Any ideas?

Thanks a lot,

Roman

Question. Does it do it for all one-time payment? How did you know it charge the CC anyway? Did someone change the transactionKey without telling everyone?

Call support. There not much we can help in the forum.

Thanks for the help. It turned out that the wrong login credentials were used by mistake (those from the test server).
