The best newcomer tips we can offer are to be sure and sign up for a developer test account if you haven't already. This will enable you to easily test your code. You can find the integration guides you need here, and we've also got sample code and troubleshooting tools to help you along the way.
And of course, if you get stuck or need some help, you can always search the community to see if others have had a similar issue or post a question for all to see. We have fabulous developer here who can offer you help when you need it.
