AVS mismatch error just for some transactions

Hello,

We are developing a web site which uses InfusionSoft to process the payment transactions.  We set authorize.net as the payment gateway at InfusionSoft.  We are getting the following decline error message for some transactions "The transaction has been declined because of an AVS mismatch. The address provided does not match billing address of cardholder. (27)".  We are not collecting the billing address information in our new web site so we think that is the reason because we are getting the error message for those transactions, however, some other transactions do go through no matter no billing address informations has been sent for them. So, we are wondering why we are getting the AVS mismatch error for some transactions meanwhile some others go through having no billing address attached to them.

Thank you very much in advance for your kind reply!

Hi johanngranados

Without having detailed knowledge of the transactions that you are referring to, it sounds like you need to adjust your AFDS Address Verification Service (AVS) rejection settings if you do not plan on collecting and including customer address. Please note that not collecting customer address information, and accepting transactions from customers which fail Address Verification, may result in higher discount rates, penalties with your merchant account provider and the loss of chargeback protection. We would recommend that you contact your merchant account provider prior to making any decisions regarding changing the minimum

The reason why some might be successful, whereas others are not, is because not all card types support Address Verification, such as non-US issued cards and gift cards which are not enabled for verification.

If you would like to review these transactions in greater detail, please contact our customer support: https://support.authorize.net/s/article/How-do-I-contact-Authorize-Net

I hope this information is helpful to you.

Regards,

Elaine
