Hi,
The documentation that I have found indicates that the MD5 hash security feature is available when using AIM but is not necessary. Does anyone know if there is any benefit provided or a certain use case where using the MD5 hash would be valuable when using AIM? Any insight would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Josh

The MD5 hash is an extra security measure used to confirm that youa re actually communicating with Authorize.Net. Because the hash is generated using a secret key known only to you and Authorize.Net, a false response would not contain a valid hash.
