Does MD5 Hash removal affect SIM/DPM?

Does the removal of the MD5 Hash affect the fields:

 

x_fp_hash

x_MD5_Hash

 

used by the older SIM and DPM charge submission methods?

I'm also using SIM and curious how this change will affect our SIM integration.  I would prefer not to have to re-write our entire integration and replace SIM with something else.  Is there a SIM upgrade guide somewhere?

I have a question about the transaction key vs the signature key.  This page:

says that the signature key is used to create the value for the x_fp_hash field.  Is that correct?  Currently we use the transaction key for that purpose.  Is the signature key used when submitting a transaction, or processing its result (when the old value from the MD5-Hash page in the settings would have previously been used)?
