Knowing if amount is higher than allowed by processor

I would like to know if there is a way to know before-hand if an amount being charged is higher than the limit allowed by the payment processor in order to avoid "declined transactions". Is that possible via API or at all?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Knowing if amount is higher than allowed by processor

Processor limits can be provided by a merchant's merchant account provider.

Thanks for the advice! I can say that today it is very important to develop software, introduce new solutions that will help to cooperate without contact or provide a service to clients. Technological progress does not stand still, and this simplifies business, you only need to automate the processes. You can find out more about this here.
