Trouble with AMEX payments and AVS

We're using SIM and we believe everything is set up correctly because our Visa and MC payments are going through okay, but we're having trouble accepting AMEX payments. For some reason, our live card is not being accepted and we get the AVS message that the address and zip do not match the billing address even though they were inputted correctly.

Our only theory right now is that it has to do with the fact that our live AMEX card is a Japanese AMEX card and that there might be an address format issue.

Has anyone else run into this sort of thing where everything but AMEX goes through okay?

If you're getting an AVS message, it's likely that this is what you thought, a problem with the Japanese address. Authorize.net has troubles sometimes with foreign addresses. What you can do is switch to not blocking transactions based on AVS flags, then test the AVS flags yourself and void or mark for later checkup any transactions in the US that have AVS problems, but not transactions outside the US.

Would be nice if Authorize.net had a setting for "apply AVS only to addresses in the US and Canada" or something of that sort.
