aim and recurring payments

I setup an orderform that sends payments via aim. How do I enable recurring payments? Is this something that can be done in the control panel of authorize.net? Or do I need to do it programatically? Also do I need to save credit cards locally to do this?

Recurring payment is something you do via ARB (Automated Recurring Billing). It's something that has to be activated for your Authorize.net account and has an additional monthly fee. Once you have it set up, you can charge the initial fee immediately via AIM, then set up a subscription via ARB to start at some future date and run every month or two months or whatever. Yes, it does have to be programmed.
