Ingrid Beierly of Visa’s Cyber-Security and Investigations team recently published an article in the Fall 2012 issue of Hospitality Upgrade.  The article titled, “Protecting Corporate Networks to Avoid a Nightmare Scenario" is a fictional account addressing an attack vector that originates with a corporate network breach.  The corporate network breach is then expanded to the entity’s payment card processing environments and other systems.

While this article is published under Hospitality Upgrade, this information is applicable to all merchant segments especially ones that may have a flat or un-segmented network environment.

The Cardholder Information Security Program (CISP) at Visa intends to protect cardholder data–wherever it resides–ensuring that members, merchants, and service providers maintain the highest information security standard.  All third party media articles can be found under the Alerts, Bulletins, and Webinar section on www.visa.com/cisp
